1982 Fiat 124 Spider 2000
This 1982 Fiat Spider 2000 was bought in San Francisco California as an unfinished restoration project. The previous owner acquired the car in 2005, and invested significantly in both mechanical and cosmetic work. The body was stripped to bare metal and painted in primer, setting the stage for a high-quality finish.
The body is structurally solid and sound. It was professionally painted in primer and is almost ready for its final coat of red paint.
There are a few minor dents on the body that need correction before painting. One of the screw-on sill covers needs to be replaced, the other is useable with a little bit of work. Originally finished in Rosso Cherry, it offers a great opportunity to restore it to its classic factory color.
Mechanically, the car received a lot of attention. Suspension components have been renewed, a new fuel pump and fuel tank were installed, and the car received rebuilt brakes. An engine-out service was carried out, with attention to detailing the engine bay. The engine might have been completely or partially rebuilt, as it shows fresh paint and new gaskets and seals.
Upon arrival to our shop, the engine briefly ran on starter fluid but was diagnosed with three faulty fuel injectors. A set of new injectors has been ordered and will be included in the sale.
The interior has been mostly renovated and will require some finishing work. Door panels are original and useable, but need to get the top black vinyl parts retrimmed. Also, the dashboard has some damage and will need an aftermarket black vinyl cover. The soft top is new. 122.190 mls on the odometre. The last emission inspection entry dates back to 1999, with 110.527 mls. A VIN report is included, showing no accident history or other issues.
A solid base for a high-quality driver, this Fiat Spider needs relatively little to be brought back to the road. A great opportunity for a hands-on enthusiast or someone seeking a light, rewarding project.

The Fiat Spider has a US title (California) and Dutch customs document (EU import duties paid). It will be sold on a commercial invoice, issued by Dandy Classics, ready for registration in all European countries.
